Here is an email sent to Charlie Duke LM pilot Apollo 16 by yours truly:
Hi Charlie
Nice website I really enjoyed browsing it. I will hopefully get to
meet you in Glasgow in September as I have a ticket for the lecture
and will deff get a ticket for the Gala Dinner. If you get a chance
and I know you are very busy, please have a look at my website
http://www.dasoc.org.uk
I am secretary of our City's Astronomy Club. I give talks on the Space
program from the late 50's through to Apollo to enraptured audiences
at local schools and the kids love to hear about the Moon Walkers and
see my collection of memorabilia. I think it is very important to keep
Apollo in the minds of our younger generations as they never will in
their lifetime experience the thrill of the Apollo era like I did.
If you would be so kind as to reply to the email I will put it on the
web site so the kids can see it.
Keep up the good work and I look forward to shaking your hand in
Glasgow.
Best regards to you and your family,
God Bless
Geoff Ruzgar

Geoff:
Thanks for all your good work sharing the story of the space program.
I am sure you are inspiring many.
Look forward to meeting you in Sept.
Charlie
So am I Charlie, so am I :)
Duke served as Lunar Module pilot of Apollo 16 in 1972 where he and John W. Young landed at the Descartes Highlands and conducted three EVAs, making Duke the tenth person to walk upon the surface of the Moon. He also served as backup lunar module pilot for Apollo 17.
He logged 265 hours in space, plus 21 hours and 28 minutes of extra vehicular activity. (courtesy Wikipedia)

Me and Charlie shaking hands just like President Nixon!
Finally got to meet Charlie and what a nice person he is. A truly memorable evening
and charlie took the time to make sure everyone got an autograph. The talk he gave
was amazing and very informative too!. Hats off to Aileen for organising this event
she worked really hard to bring Charlie to Glasgow. I look forward to the next event where it is hoped she will bring 4 Astronauts to Glasgow. (That's what I heard Aileen, honestly)
Another email from Charlie:
Geoff:
Thanks for your kind remarks.
Glasgow was fun.
Charlie
