Today the Sun looked resplendent burning away in the mid day sky. I decided to try a shot with my trusty Canon EOS 1000D. Focusing was a problem due to the sun being low down in the sky and the atmospheric haze was quite turbulent. I believe this was partly due to the heat rising from the rooftops of nearby houses.
I set the exposure at ISO100 and a shutter speed of 1/50. The resulting image was a nice orange colour. This was the rsult of white light filter (thousand oaks) on my 10" Meade LX200 SCT.
I managed to capture 2 nice sunspots one of which is probably larger than the Earth!
